Root Canal Therapy

A tooth that has suffered injury, deep decay or infection can often be saved with root canal therapy. A root canal is started by thoroughly numbing the area to be treated. The top of the tooth is opened and the soft inner tissue is cleaned out. The canals are then sterilized and filled with a rubbery material. The tooth is then closed and should be crowned later on to fortify it.
